Is there anybody out there who wants to travel to Thailand,SE Asia... I'm going in Novemeber(the 6th to be exact although i could change that)2002.
I've never done this before and so thought it would be nice to travel with someone, at least for the first few weeks or so, rather than arriving there all by my todd! I'm going to SE Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, LA for around a year, and am thinking of 4-5 months or so in SE Asia.I fly to Bangkok as my starting point.
I'm nice(!) 28, soon to be 29, easy going, never travelled before, excited, nervous, like quiet nights as well as more shall we say frivilous nights(!), oh I'm a gay man, but thats sort of irrelevant if you're cool.

God, does anybody use this site? Anyway, i was in pretty much the same situation as yourself recently. I hadn't ever 'backpacked' either and started my trip 18 months ago. Have to say it's been amazing so far. I will be heading home through Asia early in the new year, after a quick trip back to Oz. If you're still around, get in touch, catching a beer or two with someone from home would be cool. If not, have a great time, can honestly say i think you'll have a blast. Glad to hear the 'gay' thing isn't the most important thing to you either, fellow travellers are pretty cool. Have a great time.
