Our ultimate goal is Guatemala, but in order to get there we will, of course, pass through ALL of Mexico. We're two professional and adventurous guys who live in Guatemala and have done this trip many times before. We're looking to leave somewhere around the end of this month; the 29th or 30th, or perhaps the 1st of October. We have a big yellow GMC Suburban with room to spare and we'd love to have a few more folks along for the ride. Flexibility is the key for success in travelling and that will be our primary expectation from you next to an equal share of gas money and tolls. We'll be heading southeast from Austin to Houston where we'll have a whirlwind shopping stop at IKEA. We then head to the border at Laredo. Across the border, from Nuevo Laredo, we'll be travelling south via Mexico's tollroads. This route will eventually take us through Mexico City and then into Oaxaca City and then to the Oaxaca coast. From there we follow the Pacific coast into Guatemala where our final destination will be Antigua. So, your destination can be the ultimate, Antigua, Guatemala or anywhere in between. We can either drop you off right at your destination or get you to the closest connection point from where you'll hop aboard your bus or taxi or donkey or whatever. We have maps, guide books, GPS navigation, an iPod, a CD player, big hearts, adventurous minds, lead feet and a week or so to get to where we want to be. Give me a shout ASAP if you are interested.
