hi ya

i'm kind of in the same position...just a bit further along i guess....i've been wanting to travel the world for the last 5 years (ever since
i spent 5 weeks in NZ).....and i've planned various trips on and off through-out that time... but i've had real trouble in making myself take that final step and quit work/book tickets etc.

this year i finally took that extra step....i've got approval from work to have 13 weeks off at the start of next year but now the various people i was gona b travelling/ meeting up with have all either changed or cancelled their trips... so back to square one with only 3 months til i was due to leave!

I've been to NZ twice and would certainly
recommend a visit..i haven't been to the South Island yet but there is loads to c and do on the North Island and u're never far from the coast so getting work on on or around the water should b
quite easy.

when r u hoping to start your travels?..mayb we could meet up?

Hey Me too!

I've had itchy feet for the past 5 years. I even managed to rent out my flat and resign from my job, I originally planned to leave last Sept 2002, but was tempted by a large package to join a new company.... anyway I've hated it since day one and I am in turmoil as what to do. I just keep waiting for another pay day.

Anyway, I'm a 28 year guy, been in the 'Rat Race' for the last 5 years, pretty burnt out, health/mind/fitness etc. I've decided to take a month off and aim to leave the UK at the start of Dec 2002 and head to NZ to watch some of The Americas Cup, but have no-idea wher to stay and what else todo. I also have a cousin in Osaka, Japan who I could drop in on. I also fancy Oz for Christmas and New Year.

If you've read this and can offer me advice or fancy exchanging e-mail and making a plan please drop me a mail at andymilesuk@hotmail.com. Let's book a ticket and go!

Be warned once you step out it will be hard to go back to normal life. Are you sure you are ready to take the step into never never land? :)
I´ve been wandeing the globe living and working for over two years. This feels like the tip of the iceberg for me. Where to next? One continent at a time.
Questions? please feel free to ask.

yeah i've realised that...5 years ago i spent a month in NZ and it was hard enough coming back from that...i dread to think how i'll feel after 3 months!

although i'll probably just come back for a couple of years while i save up again, then go for a longer trip.....i think it'll b a long time before i'm content to settle down. (if ever)

any words of wisdom before i start my trip?
where r u at the moment?

I am also in a similar situation: i am 25, have a confortable job/life, and am bored and burntout!

I have taken the decision to leave for a big adventure, though dont know yet where and dont know with whom (or whether to go alone).

Just want want to quit my job, rent my flat, go somewhere, make new friends and fulfill my days with enjoyable moments.

When can we start preparing our travel plan?
