i was in tanzania and kenya 5 years ago now, and had a fantanstic time (mostly travelling by myself)....if in tanzania, i strongly recommend zanzibar island (short ferry from dar es saalam)..the atmosphere on the spice island is tantalizing, relaxing is far more easily achieved here than anywhere else in tanzania, the food is better (no more ugala please, please) due to the indian/coastal influence....cheap bandas on the beach, moped/scooter transport....just go there!! if you need anymore specifics, let me know...
