The English novelist Dame Freya Stark once said "To awaken alone in a strange town is one of the pleasantest sensations in the world."
Well, I'm not English and I'm not a famous novelist. So when I wake up in the middle of the night in some strange town whose name I can't pronounce, I'd like to take comfort in the thought that in the bed next to me or in the next room, depending on how much wine we've had the previous night, there's a familiar face. To cut a short story even shorter, I'm looking for a travel partner.
I'm Parvez, a 29 year old male from India. I work for a television channel. Me and my friend were planning a trip to Geneva, Slovenia, Prague, Budapest and Aushwitz (I think I spelled that wrong). But guess what? Yup, you guessed right ("5 points to Team A"), she dropped out. And I'm stranded with a suitcase in my hand. So I'm looking for someone to travel with me. Someone's who's fun to travel with minus the axe.
When I'm not travelling I spend 99% of my time watching movies, football, reading (mostly non-fiction) and listening to Bob Dylan. The other 1% I spend waiting for my computer to download a page.
I'll be arriving in Geneva around June 27th, after which I plan head to Prague and the rest of the places.
I plan to travel to small towns and villages around the cities, walk, have great food, sip wine, crack bad jokes with the locals, sit in a cafe, have some tea and introspect about life. Why am I here? Where do I go from here? and hope you don't interrupt me by saying, 'Budapest silly'.
