does anybody know if the train between nairobi and mombasa is in use again?

Sorry i dont know the Nairobi to Mombasa timetable but i know the other way around :-)
NAIROBI TO MOMBASA: EVERY MONDAY, WEDNESDAY & FRIDAY
MOMBASA TO NAIROBI: EVERY TUESDAY, THURSDAY & SUNDAY
Cost is $42 pp 1st class with sleeper HB

Train Nairobi-Mombasa operates on Every Monday Wednesday and Friday
