To South Africa with a 4 yr. old girl
Hi, As I could't find much info regarding this issue from specific branch, I'll try from here. We are planning a trip to SA in January (one month long) with 4 year old and would like to know is there some specific threats, issues or other information to consider? Our base will be Cape Town and we would like to move around as much as possible. Specially look into wildlife and native villages. With many thanks, Toomas |

You should be fine in SA with a kid. I've met a couple of families with younger children travelling around in SA. As long as you stay in the area of Cape Town and the Garden Route there shouldn't be any risk of Malaria. I think near Port Elizabeth is an elephant park, but I'm not sure.

Hi
its a very child/family friendly place- and it seemed like there were kids everywhere!! The acquarium in CapeTown is really good- you can spend a few hours easy there. We met a couple with a 1 and a 4 year old and they were having a blast. Safety wise, just watch out for deep pools, fast cars...but you're a parent, you know this stuff... |
