I wish to travel to The Gambia in early January but do not know anyone who has been. Any advice/tips please gratefully received. My recent trip to Goa was a resounding success mainly because of the tips I got from this site! The only problems I encountered were when I returned to this country and tried to get home from Gatwick to Southampton - "works on the line" took almost as long as the flight! Best wishes.

I have been and found the people really friendly and most can speak English so you will be fine. Make a trip to Senegal as well if you get the chance especially Dakar. Hope you have a great time.
