We are planning a first trip to Zanzibar in March for 2 weeks. First, can anyone recommend the best maleria tablets to take / mosquito spray. I am very confused at all the choice.
We plan to spend the first part of the trip in Stone Town and then move around Zanzibar. Can anyone recommend places to stay, both in Stone Town and other areas, transport tips, cost of things, whether it will be easy being vegetarian, etc - - any info at all would be great.

It would depend on if you are looking for duget or more up-market :-)
Budget in stone town Flamingo guest house in Mkunzini st circa $10 pp per night, Dhow palace $90 a double both great places.
Beach Langi Langi circa $60 a double.
All hotels in Znz will arrange transport up to the north or east coast cost is circa $40 maybe $25 -$30 if you barain with a taxi driver.
Zanzibar, one of my fav places on earth :-)
