Hi Ken
As Jen stated it is particularly hot in sept, I visited last september. That time of year there are not too many tourist about. Do travel to Luxor and Aswan as suggested, also take a trip on a felluca, if you are planning to stay on board more than 1 night check how many people are staying for the same length of time, you may end up alone after the first night. If you are planning to travel independently either take some warm cloths or a sleeping bag. Overnight trains get very cold and sleeping under the stars on a felluca may be wonderful but it gets very cold. I brought a sleeping bag it came in useful many times. watch out for the taxis as they will always overcharge, ask reception how much roughly before taking a taxi and stick to it. When visiting the pyramids of giza go by horse, its is lots of fun and you don't need to be a rider. It was my first time on horse back. Pay the Islamic section and local market in Cairo much cheaper than the tourist market.Have fun and take lots of pics. M |

September is a good time to go, the crowds are starting to thin out. This is one of the best times to visit has an independant traveller. Useful in Egypt, you may find you want to stay a lot longer in one place than a tour allows. Lots of accomodation to choice from and time time of price prices start fallling.
Have a good trip. Richard, http://www.franceinfocus.net Photos of Egypt and a few other places. http://www.franceinfocus.net |
