Question:
Can anyone give advice to two budget travellers wishing to dive in the Red Sea. We are looking to dive wrecks and reef - and do not usually pay more than $18 per dive.

Any comments welcome.

I'm not a diver but I do have some close friends and travelling companions who dive regularly and they say the would not dive the Red Sea with an Egyptian company.

Apparently many Egyptian operators regularly drive onto the dive sites with their anchors down, trying to catch other anchor lines or the wreck itself!

I seem to recall that the RG warned of a number of diving deaths in recent years but gave no indication as to cause. This prompted my to ask my friends about it, as we were planning a few days at a Red Sea resort as part of an Egyptian trip.

Worth a bit of research, I think.
