Hi All,
I have been given the opportunity to go to Namibia at the end of September 02 to the end of the first week in October. It is a working holiday and as I am a student I quickly accepted to free flights and accomodation, but I am wondering how much money I will need for my three week stay? I was considering renting a car for a few days so that I can see the area - would this be expensive? What are roads like in Namibia? Any feedback would be appreciated. Also I want to buy some traditional African memorbilia while I am there can anyone suggest what crafts/products typifies Namibia? I would greatly appreciate answers to my questions and also if you have anything else to tell me about Namibia I would be more then greatful. Thanks in advance. Aoife. |

I'll be traveling through South Africa, Namibia and Botswana from August 18 to Oct 13, starting and beginning in Cape Town. It's likely I'll be joining some others in renting a 4x4 car to see Namibia and Botswana from Sep 25 and a couple of weeks on. Depending on where you are, maybe you'd like to join us. IF the rest of us will be able to meet up, that is. In Africa nothing is certain, I've heard #8D)
If you've found any quotes on good routes to drive or good places to rent a car, I'd be happy to hear from you also. Since the 4WDs aren't that cheap, but necessary to go some places, it'd be good to share the costs amongst at least 3 people. You'll find my mail address on my homepage, which you should be able to find in my profile. Good luck to us all. |
