Does anyone have information about ferries (or other water based transport) from Faro to Tangier ? I have been beating up the internet and am drawing lots of blanks. There are lots of ferries from Cadiz etc in Spain but it is not as much fun/convenient.

All answers gratefully received and beers bought in Tangier or Fes !!!!

My e-mail is imv@btinternet.com

Thanks

Nick

Nick, if you plan on riding a ferry while it is raining or storming, take a barf bag. I had the PLEASURE of experiencing the ferry ride from Spain to Tangiers a few years ago. When we first got on the ferry, it was lightly raining. This is a two hour ferry ride. Halfway to our destination, the storm got WORSE. The boat was rocking back and forth violently. So bad, that EVERYONE was getting seasick. They were literally walking around to EVERYONE passing out barf bags. It looked like something out of a comedy movie. Alot of people were going outside and hanging over the rails to get fresh air or to barf. (I can hear you all laughing right now..it gets better!) People who came back inside looked like hell. They were soaking wet and their hair was allmessed up from the rain that was now blowing sideways. Okay...well..I tried to hold it as long as i could. As I ran outside to hang over the side, someone shouts "Look out!" Too bad my reflexes weren't fast enough bc I had someone from the upper deck barf all over my shoulder! LOL Talk about everyone scattering away from me with THAT nasty stuff all over me! Ugh! Of course, by seeing that, I lost my lunch. There was throw up flying everywhere off the rails from the seasickness. I am not kidding. I think 70% of the people on the ship were sick. So...when people ask me about ferry rides to Tangiers, I tell them that if they want to know how to get to hell, I have directions! It was the WORST experience of my life!! :-

Sorry, Nick. As you've stated, there's nothing you can find on the internet about these ferries, because they don't exist. You'll have to change your itinerary to include passage back into Spain to a city like Algeciras to catch the ferry over to Morocco. This is because the countries involved don't want to spend the money for extra immigration and passport control staff to work any more ferries than are already in use between the countries involved.
