Anyone been to Cameroon recently? I'm off in Jan. Any tips or recommendations?

Hello Agatha - I'm actually trying to plan a trip to Cameroon for Nov this year. Did you go and if so, how did you like it? Also, do you know of any companies that offer organized tours of Cameroon?

I am determined to get to Cameroon this year. I am looking for people who know about voluntary work, community involvement. Do you just go to crash out? I have been to Nigeria and Ghana and it was fantastic. But this time I have to do some serious work. Therefor I am learning French every day!! What other places have you been to? Why do you want to go in Jan? You have to consider the wheather. The dry season is from Nov to Jan/Feb. The raining season is like in the sauna, but I hear Yaounde is a brilliant place because it's at a higher sea level. Just be prepared for the mosquitos. In Ghana we had terrible trouble with
Malaria. But I am sure you will have a great time.
