I've unwittingly booked flights to morocco during ramadan. main concern is the running of trains because we only have two weeks - does anyone know if this is likely to cause a major problem? Also, any recommendations on finding somewhere to eat during daylight hours - ie, does literally everywhere stop selling food and bottled water?

Trains continue to run as normal.
Eating during the day is possible at restaurants and cafés all over Morocco. Shops continue their business as usual, although opening hours are slightly different. See also Is it a bad idea to travel to Morocco during Ramadan? |

I'm making an excursion to Morocco myself on the 14th October. As a non-muslim, I wish to add further assurance that you should have a great time however these thoughts are from my time in Turkey during the same period, a couple of years back. In fact I found it quite a special time to be in a Muslim country.
All I will convey to you is that life will go on and you'll be able to eat and drink and travel - just perhaps avoid being over-zealous in consumption.. I believe the dates for Ramadan 2005 are 05 October thru 03 November. |

Ramadan does not shut Morocco down. On the contrary, there's a very good atmosphere around, pretty much like the period around Christmas in Christian countries. It's a family thing, though. Therefore, unless you're invited, are going to miss the best of it. Many shops and tourist attractions have shorter opening hours during the month of Ramadan. Restaurants and bars are generally closed during daytime, although some will continue to cater to foreigners in tourist hotspots. You can ask me for more information about Morocco or just check more tipshere:)
