I am travelling to Marrakesh during the middle of June and hope to spend 5 -8 days trekking in the Toubkal region of the High Atlas. Can anyone advise what mood is in the area following the bombings in Casablanca earlier this month. Are there any anti western undercurrents? I am a little apprehensive of what the mood may be towards travellers from england. Any current advice would be very welcome - Thanks.

Hi Jacki,

I was in Marrakesh at the end of March. This was obviously before the recent bombings, but it was at the time when the war in Iraq was at its height. At that time, I detected no antipathy towards Westerners at all - quite the opposite in fact. I certainly wouldn't hesitate to go again now.

Hope this helps.

Pete
