dear travellers,
tanzania and zanzibar have become expensive places to travel and at times, quality does not correspond to the price paid. this especially applies to restaurants in stone town. i found out that luis yogurt parlour, run by an indian-goan woman, has re-opened and she cooks delicious homemade goan food (for max. 6000 tsh) and serves homemade yoghurt drinks/lassi. apparently she was in all the guide books of the ninties, but she had to close down due to family problems. now she is back, trying to start over again. luis yoghurt parlour, gizenga street, right next to gallery bookshop, currently open only for lunch. she would love to serve you lunch, as she is struggeling to get back in business. independent women in a muslim country - never easy. |
