I have recently returned from a holiday in Tanzania visiting relatives. I want to recommend a place I stayed at recently on a safari to Ngorongoro Crater. It is a small guest house in the middle of a coffee plantation very close to the crater run by a Brother Nicolas. The road to it is a bit rough but the guest house will fetch you – we left our car at Karatu in safekeeping but they will arrange to meet you at the airport. It is an old coffee plantation planted by a German family in the 1930s and the original house is still there. It was US$15 B&B and they have a vehicle we rented for the day to drive to the Crater. The driver Fredy was very knowledgeable and we had a great safari seeing every animal you could wish for. They also do safaris to the other game parks in the area and we also visited Lake Manyara. I would highly recommend this place and you can contact Brother Nicolas at tecoldeani2004@yahoo.com.
