i am planning a trip to LA there are 3 of us and we are all 18 what advice would you give to 18 year olds travelling LA and staying in south central los angeles

South Los Angeles is the official name for a large geographic and cultural area lying to the south and southeast of downtown Los Angeles, California. The area was formerly known as South Central Los Angeles (or South Central for short). In 2003, the city of Los Angeles changed the area's official name from South Central Los Angeles to South Los Angeles, hoping to blur collective memories of violence and blight. The city gave it its present name because the name South Central had become almost synonymous with urban decay and street crime. However, the name is not very widely used; most residents of Los Angeles (including residents of South Los Angeles) still use the old name.

Hi how long are you gonna stay in L.A.? I would definately make the most of california and head up to san fran for a bit of night life or head to beautiful San Diego and learn to Surf. We stayed in L.A. for a couple of weeks on Hollywood boulevard in the scummiest hostel ever still can visualise sticking to the carpet. the pool turned out to be a pool table! Anyhow would recommend watching a premier at the theatre, music at the hollywood bowl, and chilling out at santa monica beach. Enjoy

Do you normally stay in the slums of London? Do you routinely stay in the areas of London and Liverpool that is almost exclusively for "people of color?" Do you routinely live in some of the many caravan parks in the UK? If you do then you will find things just like back home!
