Ever since Lewis & Clark first traveled the untamed wilderness of the Great Northwest, people have yearned to experience the scope and beauty of this rugged terrain. At the turn of the century, the Great Northern Railroad penetrated these landscapes, opening the area’s ice fields and snow-capped mountains to the rail traveler for the first time. This eight-day American Orient Express journey follows many of the same routes and continues the golden age traditions of rail in comfort and style. This itinerary is truly one of the more scenic rail journeys to be found. During this trip, we experience four major mountain ranges, fertile agricultural regions of Idaho and Eastern Washington, the headwaters of the Missouri River in Montana, and Glacier, Yellowstone and Teton National Parks. Visit some of the very sites explored by Lewis & Clark and the Corps of Discovery.
