First post here - lots of questions.
I am travelling in Mississippi area for 3 wks in July and want to end up in New Orleans. Flights and car hire booked and not much money left after that :-( Still how about: 1) Reasons to go places (Jackson, Hattiesburg, Greenville, Natchet, Memphis) Nothing planned yet. 2) Blues Music 3) Things to take photos of 4) Areas of outstanding natural beauty 5) Places to eat in (see 1) 6) Places to stay in (see 1) 7) Do we take a trip on the river and where? 8) Anything I didn't cover? Thanks Martin |

You should definitely check out Oxford, Miss, a very pretty southern town with lots of literary associations. I was going to suggest renting a bike and touring part of the Natchez Trace, but then I noticed that you will be there in July, which will be probably too hot and humid to enjoy cycling much. You can drive it as well, though, and it is very pretty.
