I am traveling with my wife and another couple from Boston to Montreal in June. I have heard horror stories of long delays at the Canadian customs. People have been considered inadmissable to Canada because of bad driving records? Has anyone had any customs delays. I understand the need for safety now, but sitting in a line of cars for unnecessary hours is just not worth the trip. Maybe flying might be more reasonable. ANy sugesstions or comments?

you should have no problem, as long as you don't go on a long holiday weekend (ie June 24 is a holiday in Quebec). Usually, crossing into Canada does not take more than 30 min. And they don't ask for anything other than a passport or birth certificate.

Have fun!!

don't bring fruits, seeds, livestock etc...
but lots of cdns do cross-border shopping without customs hassles.

are you kidding about bad driving records? quebecers are recognized as one of the worst drivers in the world...must be that latin impulse.
we just changed the law- we weren't allowed to turn right at red lights. it's still on probation in montreal but rural quebec it's ok, i think. always, plead the ignorant tourist- i don't know the law.

THEY ARE CHUCKING THIS NEW REGULATION___CAUSES ACCIDENTS. I'LL KEEP THIS HERE SINCE IT DEALS WITH SAFETY...
ontario- always accepted the right turn on red light.
