Hi,
An old friend of mine went to America and rather than rent a car using the conventional routes, he used a company that specialised in relocations, and drove someone's car who was relocating from one state to another. Does anyone know anything about this, and where I might be able to find out how to organise this? Cheers! Helen |

This is called Driveaway. There are several companies in the US that act as agents for people who want their cars transported from city A to city B in the State. The best known is a company called Auto Driveaway - check their website at www.autodriveaway.com .
If the agency has a car that needs to be transported to the city you want to go to, you get to drive it there. You pay a refundable deposit, and for petrol (gas) after the first tankful, but other than that you get free use of the car. But there are time and mileage constraints, and, of course, it's a one-way trip. Try it! Pete |

Thanks Pete - I'd been racking my brains for ages trying to remember the name!
