I was thinking about travelling to NYC around 27th December and spending new year there. Does anyone know if this is a good time to go (I've been in late summer and autumn before but fancy checking it out in winter).

It'll obviously be freezing cold, but my main concern, and this could well be a silly question, would be how much things slowed up (if at all) over the festive period and whether any of the main attractions, galleries etc... are shut for holidays over this time.

You might find places closed early on New Year's Eve or closed on New Year's Day. Otherwise, things are generally open the days before and after.
