We (group of 8)have supplanted our annual walking trips in Britain for one in Nova Scotia/Cape Breton this July. Can you recommend any hikes?

There are lots of great hikes in cape breton, particularly the national park. I'm not sure what you are looking at but here are a few examples. There is a 2 km walk out to a point over the ocean/Gilf of St. Lawrence where you can whale watch. It's out the back of the Celtic Lodge. There is also a terrific hike up the Franey Trail - you want to be in fairoly good shape for this one. At the entrance to the Cape Breton National Park you can pick up free trail guides and maps. There are short, medium, long and overnight hikes. Have a great time.

Thanks for your reply & suggestions. Yes, I've included both those hikes on our itinerary - good see they're recommended. Appreciate you input.
