Hi wondered if anyone can help... my partner and I are planning a week to san fran in July, staying for 8-9 days. I've read in several guide books to avoid hiring a car traffic and parking a nightmare in the city, etc. Is this sensible advice?? We would like the use of a car to visit the wine regions etc and further a field but they suggest either just hiring a car for a day (is this fairly easy from the city??) or going on an organised day trip - something we don't usuallly do. Any advice appreciated. Travelling from London so pretty use to traffic..
