Hi! I'm heading to NY mid March '03 and was really hoping for some advice on hostels.
I'm a girl travelling alone and its my first time in NY. I don't really have a problem with sharing rooms, but just wanted to know if anyones stayed at hostels in NY, and if so, any recommendations? I'd like to be close to the sights, and am on a rather tight budget! (just got back from a year in Asia, Oz & NZ).

@ upper westside Manhattan on amsterdam & 103rd street is alright. Older building that's clean, has good security and its close to a subway stop for quick access to the rest of NYC. it's also walking distance to central park...
