We leave for the USA on the 25th Aug we fly into LA and out of San Fran 3 months later.
We would like to see as much as possiable but need to do it on the cheap. we hope to go across as far as florida we're not sure weather to greyhound, hire a car or auto drive away. if anyone has done the following we would really appricate some info. Or if anyone knows of the cheapest way of travelling around USA again any info would be great. Thanks for your time |

i would think hiring a rental car for 3 months would get very expensive. if you want to go to the east coast and back, you might want to go the Greyhound route. for long distance rides, you can sleep and save on the price of a room. then spend a few days in a city, and then on to the next. Greyhound might have some great discounts if you are travelling with them quite a bit, passes or something.

Auto driveaway is a great way of covering the USA on the cheap - the only downsides are (a) it's a one-way trip and (b) time restrictions force you to spend a lot of time behind the wheel. Check out www.autodriveaway.com
