Hi
I am flying into LA in mid October and flying out of Las Vegas a week later. I'd really like to take in San Diego and the Grand Canyon during that time too. Can anyone recommend the best way round to do it?
I am girl travelling on her own and would ideally like to rent a car but dont think I can afford it on my own. Are buses a good alternative? (ie. could I get from LA to San Diego to Vegas in good time/budget?).
I am up for seeing plenty of nightlife and maybe taking in a tour of TV studios so any recommendations would be really appreciated.

I have been told about a hostel called The Orbit Hostel in LA - any comments on that?

If you are travelling on your own I would advice that you plan your bus trips carefully so that you are not arriving anywhere new late at night most of the greyhound bus stations are in rough areas but if you plan it well you will be okay. We stayed by muscle beach which was a bit desserted at night if you want to be at the beach the Santa Monica area is the best and lively at night. If you visit Vegas ther is a cheap place to saty right on the strip called the Jockey Club its next door to the Belagio altough it doesnt have it own casino (that what makes it cheap) evrything is a stones throw away and it is a really plush place we paid $40 dollars per night for 2 of us hope this is of some help
