I am a British Citizen and have a British passport. My wife has an Indian passport but has a stamp in her passport "for indefinate leave to remain in UK".

In Jan 2004 we are both returning home to UK from Australia and New Zealand via US (Los Angeles); transit stop.

My question is : Does she NEED a TRANSIT VISA or NOT?

I have phoned the US embassy in Canberra but got no answer from the lady. She says She DIDNT KNOW!!

Any help appreciated.
