Priorities...

Ice hockey. I absolutely love Ice Hockey, but don't follow NHL because coverage here in Britain is well past my bedtime. I'm going to be in NYC from the 9th-13th of March and would love to catch a game. Through Ticketmaster I can buy tickets for the New York Rangers vs. Florida Panthers game for $25 plus a thwacking of over $12 on convenience charges etc.

What's the chances of me being able to get a ticket for less than $37 the day of the match? Will it be a sell-out or are there normally a few of the cheap tickets floating around till match-day? Is there any way of me being able to get round these extra charges?

Don't want to miss this opportunity - but need to be sensible with my money!

Hostels. My hostel choice is down to 2. Bowery's Whitehouse Hotel or Chelsea International Hostel. Anyone who can give me any advice on which to choose please do. Main things I'm concerned about are security and location.
