I'm planning on travelling around Canada this summer for about 3 months with my girlfriend. We're thinking of buying a car to drive around in then selling it when we leave. Has anyone got any advice on how easy this would be? Specifically - is it possible for non-Canadians to get insurance? Do you need a permanent address in Canada to get insurance or register the car? Is there road tax to pay? Are there insurance companies that offer cover on a month by month basis? How easy is it to buy in one province and then sell in another?

Thanks

Hi,
I am planning on doing this in May, with a friend when we go travelling in the USA for 3 months. We are currently gathering info about this, so I will post again and let you know what we have found out in a few days. We are planning on buying in New york and selling in San Fransisco before we fly to Canada, and have heard that lots of people do this, so it shouldnt be too difficult.
