spending 10 days in california in september.

can anyone recommend good/cheap hostels in
san fran
santa cruz
santa barbara
la

travelling on greyhound buses so central to town would be ideal.

any other general advice about california would be great too!!

In LA I stayed at Orbit located on Melrose Avenue. Nice and clean.

In Santa Cruz I stayed at the HI which was fine.

In San Fran I stayed at Pacific Tradewinds, and it's probaly the best hostel I've stayed at in the US.

I would recommend you to go to Redwook and Klamath. The hostel there has the most amazing view over the beach and the hikes are wonderful.
