hi does anyone know anything about the Aladdin south strip Vegas i booked there for christmas 2003 and recently heard bad reports ...please help

I'm the author of the Rough Guide; Las Vegas. I've stayed at the Aladdin several times; it's one of the three or four places I regularly choose to stay. I think it's really good value, with good restaurants and shops; it gets a bad press because it hasn't been very successful financially, but that's down to peculiarities in the design – like the fact that it's easy to go to or from your room without passing through the casino floor – that actually make it a nicer place to stay.
