A word of warning for visitors to NY city looking vacation rentals - avoid www.apartmentescapes.com and www.directloft.com. I have recently returned and was forced to move 4 times in one week due to appartment condition; they were very unhelpful and the accommodation cost for the trip ended up three times as much as was orignally agreed.

Daniel Rosenthal is the most unprofessional and sleeziest businessman ever. He is president of apartmentescapes.com. He'll assure you that you have a property, NEVER follow up with you, and you get there and you're left on the streets. The (212) 631-0280 is his cell phone and he claims it's on 24/7 for emergencies and it's not. The worst experience of my life. And to top this off,,,,,he refuses to pay me back my full amount!! We didn't even stayed at his property! We had to sleep in the Surburban! All transactions are conducted through PayPal and I'm still waiting for my refund (3 months later). I HAVE YET TO CURSE HIM OUT & HE KEEPS HANGING UP THE PHONE ON ME. Im in the process of taking him to small claims court. PLEASE BEWARE!! He's very pleasant to talk to, but he's definitely a con artist!

Here are some links to a list of other complaints. Do your research people! Maybe if I did, I wouldn't have gotten burned...

take it to court. if the things you are saying are stipulated in the contract. such as refunds and stuff like that. shouldn't places like these be inspected by a health department or fire safety org?

Apartmentescapes.com and Airsaversonline.com.

Lots of complaints.

Their other company is Airsaversonline.com.

About 9 weeks ago I purchased $4200 worth of airline tickets from Airsaversonline.com. I haven't received a credit or tickets.

If you want to reach him dial *67 so he can't see your # in his caller I.D. or use an email address he doesn't recognize.

He wouldn't even sign for a letter I sent him.

I suggest contacting every consumer company and legal processes that deal with fraud.

Hopefully Bostonian0515 will win in small claims court and you can protect others from his business methods by making his actions as public as possible.

Thought I'd put my 2-cents in. . .

Airsavers/Apartment Escapes is also:

Selectnycapartments.com
Timesquareapartments.com
Nycvisitorscenter.com
Vacationapartmentsonline.com
Resortsavers.com

Any Google search or "whois" check will confirm this.
