Hi,
I'm a Canadian citizen, but I've been resident in the UK since I was very young. I'm visiting Canada in May 2003 for the very first time and I'm hoping to settle and work in Toronto. Does anyone have any advice about which area is best to look for accommodation in Toronto and where to go/what to do and (most importantly) where to avoid when I arrive? Happy travels :) Sam x |

Hi,
I guess I should have included alot more info. Okay - I'll be travelling alone so my question relates to safety of the single female traveller. I love to socialise -I enjoy finding and enjoying nice eateries - pubbing and clubbing. I'd also like to do the tourist hotspots. this will be my first experience of travelling and I'll be doing alone - so I'd appreciate any advice/contacts/information. thanks :) Sam x |

I have visited Toronto once as a single woman and had no problems there. I walked most of the city and my hotel was downtown. There are alot of neat neighborhoods. I especially liked the Chinatown area. Overall i'd say it's pretty safe.
I've also circled Lake Superior into Canada and loved that. I was w/ my boyfriend though. There were some pretty remote places but beautiful land. |
