Think twice before staying at the Downtown Denver Ramada. Perhaps you might get billed twice for your stay and have to spend hours of your life trying to clear the matter up with a franchise who has no interest in your fate or your money.
I used my American Express card to reserve a room online this fall. Upon check-out, I told the desk person that I would prefer to pay cash and NOT leave the charge on my Amex. I was told this was not a problem and my cash was taken. In a few weeks, to my surprise and dismay, the charge also appeared on my American Express statement.
Despise the fact I never signed a credit card slip, they are saying that the Ramada receipt corporate receipt they have is good enough for them to charge me and, conveniently, their records don't show I paid cash.
I have tried to speak with them but the staff at the Ramada will not even make a pretense of listening. It is, apparently, not possible that a mistake could have been made by the Denver Ramada. My requests that they check their billing, check their cash received, video surveillance, have all fallen upon deaf ears. The staff is completely disinterested in even listening - so much for the customer is always right.... more like the customer is always ignored.
