we're planning to go to Canada next summer as we are real nature people. We would fly to Montreal, as the tickets are a lot cheaper to that airport. Is there anyone who could give us tips about what we really must see? Should we rent a car or travel by bus (we did so in Mexico, very easy and less expensive than a car)? Stay in hostals or take our tent to camp?
All suggestions are welcome!

Hi zus,

Canada is certainly the place to go for nature! There are buses linking everywhere quite adequately but they won’t be as cheap as Mexico. Also, sometimes its hard to remember just how vast Canada is as a country and it depends how much time you want to spend on the road – renting a car would be much quicker and more convenient, although obviously you’d want to check just how much it might cost… If you’re planning to stay for a long time, you could even looking into buying a cheap car for the trip and selling it on when you leave…

As far as accommodation is concerned, there are plenty of hostels in canada offering cheap beds from city centers to more remote locations so unless you’re really budget conscious there’s no real need to spend the entire trip outdoors!

In terms of must-sees I’d pick…
Vancouver Island
Niagara Falls
Mt. Currie
Banff
Algonquin Park (stay in Wolf Den Bunkhouse here, it’s amazing!)
