If you were going to be in Costa Rica for two months and then wanted to travel to other parts of central america for a month where would you go and what is the best way to get around?

Great opportunity! My suggestion is to head over the caribbean coast of CR, buses are direct from San Jose to Puerto Viejo, its beautiful,rent a bike, see Punta Uva, one of the most beautiful beaches, cheap accomodation can be found. You can then take bus right from Peurto Viejo to Sixaola, the bridge over to Panama negotiate a taxi to(Bocas del Toros) the island is fabulous, Heike's hostel in the square is great. there are other islands to check out. About 3 hrs from Puerto to Panama. Another trip to do is Nicaraugua, amazing, Granada is beautiful, lots of modern cool hostels, check out Ometepe, San Juan del Sur in Nic as well.
