I was wondering if anyone has ever driven the Pan-American Highway (USA-Panama)? i am planning on doing it in december or january but have little information. any help would be greatly appreciated.thanks.

Me and my boyfriend (we are from Holland) are doing it right now. After 5 months of traveling by public transport through South america, we got fed up with it and wanted our own wheels. We flew from Peru to San Diego and bought an old Volkswagen campervan. After more than a month driving through Mexico, we are now in Guatamala (most of the driving is on the panamerican). Its great. I am not sure what kind of information you want. But I can certainly stay in touch with you and let you know how things are going.

You might want to read the book "99 Days to Panama" about a couple who drove from Texas to Panama and back with their dog in a small RV. Have a great trip!
