I'm planning a trip to somewhere warm in Feburary - only have 6 days. Leaving from St. Louis. Would like to go to some beautiful beaches with rainforest and historical/cultural sites close by. I know it's a tall order to squeeze all these into such a short time period, but you get the idea. Any suggestions and advices will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

I hate to say it, but you would probably be best off flying into Cancun, Mexico, taking the bus from the airport straight to Playa del Carmen and finding a place near the beach.

A day trip to Cobá would be fun and you could do it by public bus or through an agency in Playa. Guess which would be cheaper? There is jungle around the site.

The ruins at Tulum are post-classic crud with a nice ocean view, but you can do some pleasant swimming if you climb over the nearby rocks to a rather secluded beach.
