The path between San Juan del Sur and Playa Remansa has been the scene of many robberies for several years.

We were victims of this and were held up by two campesinos with machetes. They took everything.

Do NOT walk to this beach.

Locally , i.e. in the Nica community, this knowledge is common. We were lucky enough to bump into a Canadian expat shortly after the attack.
She has lived in the area for 7 years and confirmed this by saying she knew the path was not safe to walk down due to muggings.
