I will be flying into El Paso April 9. I plan to take the bus to Chihuahua or Creel and do the train through copper canyon.I have 10 days and am hoping to make it all the way to Mazatlan and then shoot back (on bus) up to El Paso for my my flight out on the 19th. Is this feasable? Any advice about things to do, cautions etc. will be appreciated. I have not traveled in Mexico before.

I am worried that your plan puts most of your vacation time in transit, with too little opportunity to get out and really see Mexico walking around.

Consider this tactic: take the bus and train down to Mazatlan as you have outlined it, give yourself a few extra days there, then check into flying from Mazatlan back to Juarez (if you live in El Paso). If El Paso is just your entry point, then look for a flight from Mazatlan directly back home.
