I am taking my first ever vacation alone and I am having difficulties deciding on what to do while I am in Costa Rica. I will be there from June 11 until June 27.

I have read 2 guides and visited many websites but I can't figure out if I should rely on the bus, rent a car, take package tours or go it on my own.

I would appreciate any suggestions you can give.

... would be my advice. And rent a car. It may be the start of the rainy season, so a car might not be ideal in some areas, unless you're used to fairly rough driving.
