IN EL ROSARIO, AVOID THE HOTEL/RV PARK SINAI. One of the paniers from my bicycle was stolen while camped there recently. Apparently there is a gang of petty thieves active in the area. Nearly everybody that I spoke with in town has been the victim of a theft. In all of Baja these days, it would seem that one would need to take the same kind of precautions as one would take in Cancun or Acapulco. The management of Hotel Sinai was at best indifferent, at worst downright unhelpful, treating me as just a rich dumb gringo and refusing to acknowledge that they have any responsibility to at least try to keep their grounds reasonably safe. There are other safer and friendlier places to stay in Baja.
