Hi,

I am travelling to Mexico soon for a total of 7 months. I am from the UK. Obviously I have saved a bit of cash to take to finance myself during my trip. What is the best way to access my money when I am there? Would it be best to take it all with me in the form of travellers cheques? Should I leave it in my bank (Natwest) and draw on it when I am there from cash machines? Should I take it all in cash and deposit it with a trusted friend for the time I am there? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Richard

I have stopped using traveller's checks for trips. With a good ATM card that accesses your bank account, there is no need. It is true that they will charge you each time, but unlike with a friend, there will be no shenanigans possible.

I defenitly wont use traveler check. Their are enough ATM's in Mexico and it is save enough to have some cash on you. I live in Mexico and still use my dutch card to withdraw money. Works perfectly.
