My husband and I are planning a motorcycle trip from Brownsville, Tx to Belize. Has anyone driven that route? Do you have any suggestions or warnings regarding the roads and petrol stops? Thanks for any help.

I believe that official maps of Mexico show Pemex stations. You would definitely want a map with that info on it. My best advice is:

Don't drive at night. I don't think that way about cars, but bikes have additional problems in the dark.

Always get a hotel with off-road parking.

Like anywhere else, a truck stop with a lot of trucks is likely to have the better food.

Avoid the tollways. They are complete ripoffs.
