Hi there, I'm flying in to Cancun at the end of the month and intend renting a car for two weeks. I only want to stay there for one night because I want to on a little adventure... so can anyone give us some tips on good/non commercial/laid back places ( within 600km ) thanks x
Why would you spend the first night in Cancun? You could head directly south from the airport after getting your rental. Instead of worrying about damage to your car if you can't find a place with off street parking in the city, you could spend a nice night at Playa or, better yet, Bacalar. You could do the whole circuit from Bacalar-Xpujil=Escárcega-Uxmal-Merida-Valladolid, seeing ruins along the way and still have time left over at the end for a beach after dropping your car off.
