Hi, About 1970 I stayed in this hotel. It was old fashioned, then, with marble floors, a huge foyer and potted palms; rather reminiscent of the original Peninsular Hotel in Hong Kong (in my memory at least!!) Anybody any idea if it still exists/ has changed it's name?
Any other suggestion of faded glory in Mexico City, otherwise, would be welcome.

whew! that was a long, long time ago! not too much luck on my google search of your hotel. I found many Marrakech accommodations in Morocco that have those qualities of an old-fashioned Mexican hotel you are looking for.
