Apparently, there are flights from Cancun to Palenque, but they are not daily. The better approach would be to fly into Villahermosa and I don't think there are any flights at all between Belize and Cancun, but there are between Chetumal and Cancun.
My experience in buying airline tickets in Mexico is that it has been cheaper to go to the airport ticket booth and buy onto the next flight. I wouldn't do this around a major holiday, though.

What is your point? This was an old post from 2003 mentioning flights into Palenque, of which there now have not been any for a while. It also mentioned that there are no flights from Cancun to Belize, which as you state, is still true.

You are right, no flights from Cancun to Belize. I just took the bus last January, Cancun - Chetumal (about 6 hours, ADO), then a taxi to the border, walk across, and a Belize bus will stop and pick you up. another 3 1/2 to Belize city, but you can take a water taxi from Corozol to San Pedro, or a puddle jumper, also form Corozol. Last ferry around 4:00PM, and last flight 5:30PM. Ths is the fastest way that I know of.
